Hello there, I am Professor Smith. I see you've enrolled in our Arithmancy class, good to see it. First off, this will not be an easy class, and you've probably heard that from all of your teachers. But, I guarantee it will be worth it. Arithmancy, also called numerology is the method of fortune telling based on names and numbers. Arithmancy, unlike divination isn't based on fuzzy images and hard-to-decipher tea leaves, but mathematical calculations. (Simple adding.) You will learn about Character numbers, Heart numbers, and Social numbers. You can also decipher your birthday using Arithmancy, but a lesson in the future will explain that. Every homework is 10 housepoints and extra credits are 5. Please label all of your homeworks with: Your name, your house, which lesson and the date. Late homeworks will have a deduction of 2 points. I'll expect answers to be in complete sentences. (Though most questions will be numbers) Do not disrespect me or my class, and I hope we'll get along just fine.
